This painting shows a woman and a man sitting together on a red couch. The woman is on the left, and she appears to be partially dressed, with a pink cloth draped over her waist and one arm. She has pale skin and short, dark hair that partially covers her face as she looks to the right, towards a small mirror that she holds in one hand. Her other hand holds a thin red object that may be lipstick. The man on the right is leaning forward, looking down at a rectangular wooden object that he is holding upwards. He has pale skin and curly, reddish-brown hair. The woman's elbows appear to be resting on the man's head and back. On the left is a table with brushes in a jar and a small bottle, with some other indistinct shapes below it. The background is a muted blend of pale green, brown, pink, and blue. The brushstrokes in the painting are thick and visible.
