The image depicts an elderly man from the waist up, kneeling in a forest setting. He has a long beard, a bald head with hair at the sides, and appears to be looking down or slightly to the side. The man's upper body is exposed, with a cloth draped over his lower body. He is next to a tree, with one hand grasping its trunk. A lion is sitting close by, facing the viewer. In the background, there is a castle or large building on a hill surrounded by trees and open countryside. The lines are bold and the details intricate, typical of a woodcut print.
