This is a painting of pileated woodpeckers on a grapevine-covered tree trunk. The piece features four woodpeckers perched on the trunk. One woodpecker is shown with a worm in its beak. The trunk displays patches of peeling bark. Surrounding the birds are vine leaves in shades of green and brown, with clusters of deep blue or purple grapes hanging down.
