This painting shows two Mississippi Kites perched on a branch. The scene depicts two birds sitting on a partly moss-covered tree branch. The top bird is viewed in profile with its wings folded and an open beak. The bird below also shows its profile, exhibiting a distinctive plumage pattern with soft gray and blue tones, ruffled feathers, and a pale underside. Both birds have red eyes. The tree branch is rugged and textured, with hanging moss adding to the realism. This artwork is in the style of John James Audubon.
