The image shows three night hawks among foliage. The birds are highly detailed, perched and flying near large green leaves, with some insects present. The birds have brown, white, and black feathers. The background consists of large green leaves, possibly from an oak tree. Two insects in mid-flight add movement to the scene. The style is reminiscent of John James Audubon.
