This painting depicts two hawk owls perched on branches. One owl is vertical on a branch, gazing into the distance with yellow eyes. The other owl is mid-motion, possibly in flight or preparing to dive, displaying spread wings and detailed feather patterns. The owls have brown plumage with black and white markings. They are set against a neutral background with twisted branches. The style is reminiscent of John James Audubon's lifelike bird portrayals.
