This is a painting of three birds perched on a tree trunk. The composition features a central brown tree trunk with detailed bark texture, upon which three woodpeckers are depicted. Below, two birds are climbing opposite sides of the trunk. Both have black and white striped patterns with red patches near their eyes. At the top, a third bird is resting on a branch with its head pulled in. The painting has a background of soft cream color, highlighting the birds and tree. This is in the style of John James Audubon.
