The image depicts a wintry landscape with a wide sky dominating the top half of the composition. Near the lower third of the image, a small town with church spires and roofs is visible in the distance. In the foreground, a windmill is surrounded by trees and a snowy path curving to the right. Farther away, figures can be seen skating on a frozen waterway. The etching features delicate, linear brushstrokes that capture details like the sky and landscape textures. The monochromatic color palette consists of ochre tones.
