The image shows a wooded scene with a seated figure leaning against a tree on the left. The trees are depicted with swirling brushstrokes, leading the eye to a pathway in the distance. A bright clearing on the right contrasts with the darker tones of the trees. The overall color palette is monochromatic with shades of grey achieved through cross-hatching. Light and shadow are used to bring balance to the scene.
