This is a black-and-white photograph taken from a street-level perspective in an urban setting. The horizon is positioned high in the image, with a large, incomplete steel framework of a building dominating the view. The sky above is overcast, blending with the gray tones of the structure. Close to us is a concrete sidewalk and a row of trimmed bushes, behind which two men in hats are visible, likely standing beside a street. Further in the distance, older buildings with classic architecture are situated on either side of the street, lining the road. A trolley car and a few vehicles are seen on the street, while a man wearing a hat stands on the right. The monochrome palette emphasizes the depth and texture of the scene through various shades of gray and black.

The image shows a man leaning his head on his hand, positioned with his face resting on his left hand. He has a mustache, thin-framed eyeglasses, and thick, greying hair that curls slightly at the edges. He is dressed in a formal jacket, a white shirt, and a black bow tie. The background is a soft, dark blur.
