The image shows an elevated vantage overlooking a landscape with rolling hills. The horizon marks the transition between the sky and the terrain. Distant hills with trees create a jagged outline. The monochromatic color palette accentuates the contrast. Cumulus clouds dominate the sky while trees and hills create contrasting layers.

Remarks

The mount of this photograph is inscribed in an unknown hand: L. G. 6. Because of its similarity to Stieglitz’s inscription on Key Set number 1155, this inscription may indicate a grouping that Stieglitz himself constructed.

The dates for this photograph and Key Set numbers 1154, 1156, and 1158 are based on similarities to Key Set numbers 1153 and 1155.
