Remarks

The Cornell University Medical Center, visible in the distance of this photograph, is in the final stages of construction. The medical center began receiving patients on 1 September 1932; therefore, Stieglitz must have made this photograph some time in spring before he left for Lake George. The title is based on those of similar works included in the 1932 exhibition at An American Place.
