The image shows a seated man and a standing figure interacting. The seated man is shown almost fully, his posture slouched with his limbs appearing thin and gaunt. His facial features are pronounced, with hollow cheeks and a scraggly appearance. His hair is sparse and disheveled. He wears only a pair of striped shorts, leaving his upper body bare, and he is seated on a simple chair. He holds a cracked bowl in his left hand. The standing figure, dressed fully in a long dark coat and hat, leans over the seated man with a stern expression. Their facial features are less visible due to the shading of the hat, but they have a long, pointed nose. This figure holds a card or document in their left hand close to the seated man's face. The background is simple and lacks detail, with some sketched shading and a name signed at the bottom left corner of the image. On the ground next to the seated man lies a piece of paper with the word "INTÉRIEUR" inscribed on it.
