Alphonse Legros

Artist, French, 1837 - 1911

The image shows the head and shoulders of a person. The individual is positioned with their head slightly tilted upward. The facial features include a pronounced nose, expressive eyes, and lips that are slightly pursed. The hair appears to be short and swept back from the forehead, blending with the textured, muted tones of the painting. The clothing is not distinctly visible, but there seems to be a suggestion of a dark collar or garment below the neck. The background is a textured, brown canvas. In the bottom right corner, there is a signature or set of initials.
