The image depicts an upper-body portrait of a man with his right hand placed on his chest in a formal pose. His head is turned slightly to his right, with his gaze directed towards the viewer. The man has detailed facial features, including a long, curly beard and mustache, and long, wavy hair extending past his shoulders. He is dressed in ornate clothing with a dark garment fastened with small buttons and an outer cloak draped over his left shoulder. To the left of the figure, there is a decorative object resembling an armillary sphere. The background features lines and an archway framing the subject, with text at the bottom identifying the person as "D. KENELMVS DIGBI EQVES."
