This is an engraved portrait of a man in profile, facing to the right. The man is seated, with his upper torso and head visible within an ornate oval frame. He has a strong nose, a full, curly beard and mustache, and curly, shoulder-length hair mostly hidden by a wide-brimmed hat with a ribbon and a brooch. He is wearing a ruffled collared garment. The oval frame is decorated with motifs, including mythical creatures and vignettes. Below the portrait is a Latin inscription, and the background is decorated paper. A plain margin surrounds the image with publication information at the bottom.
