The image is an engraved portrait of a man showing his upper body from just below the shoulders upward. He is positioned at an angle, looking to the viewer's left. The man has a full beard and mustache, along with wavy hair that appears to be receding slightly. He has a solemn expression, with deep-set eyes and a furrowed brow. He is wearing a high-collared shirt with ruffled edges under a garment that could be a robe or cloak. The background of the portrait is filled with a series of fine lines and dots. There are Latin inscriptions in serif typography below the portrait containing the name "LAURENTIVS SÆDERVS MAR" and additional text with artistic flourishes.
