German 15th Century

Associated Names
This is a drawing of a religious tableau with medieval text. The artwork features five distinct religious scenes within rectangular frames. The top displays ornate Gothic script text, which reads "Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdeorvm." Below, there are five illustrated panels: St. Christopher carrying Jesus across a river; a saintly figure pierced with arrows; a nativity-like scene with Jesus, Maria, and Anna; a crowned female figure in a pastoral landscape; and a bearded figure resting with a staff. The style resembles medieval woodcuts or illuminated manuscripts, with bold outlines and a limited color palette of earth tones. The figures are detailed with symbolic attire and gestures.
