This is an etching showing a side profile of a man's upper body. The man is facing left with his head turned slightly towards the front. He has a prominent nose, a beard, and a receding hairline with his hair combed back. He is wearing a dark jacket and a white collared shirt. The background has horizontal lines, giving it a textured appearance. A signature "Degas" is at the bottom right corner of the image.
