The image shows a portrait of a man from the waist up, positioned facing forward with a slight turn to his right. His facial features include a long, narrow face with a pointed nose and high cheekbones. He is wearing a head covering with a slight drapery effect, which partially covers his hair. The man is dressed in elaborate clothing, consisting of a robe adorned with a detailed and ornate collar and a heavy, decorative chain around his shoulders, from which hangs a large, intricate pendant. In his left hand, he holds a cat, which sits calmly, while his right hand is resting below the cat. The background features a circular decorative border inscribed with text and is accompanied by heraldic symbols and an ornate design featuring a cherubic figure at the top. Below the portrait is an inscribed panel detailing achievements attributed to Richard Whittington.
