The image shows a portrait of a man from the waist up, sitting down and turned slightly to the right. He has a serious expression, a mustache, full beard, neatly styled hair under a square cap, and is dressed in traditional clerical attire with a large ruff collar and voluminous sleeves. There is an ornate ribbon design around him with inscriptions indicating his title and name as "Lancel. Andrewes." He holds a small book or paper in his hand. The background is an aged paper texture.
