The image depicts an etching of a man from the waist up. He is seated and facing forward, holding a scroll in his right hand. The man has a mustache and a neatly trimmed beard, along with medium-length hair curling slightly at the ends. He wears a high, dark hat with a slightly upturned brim, and his clothing is ornate with a large ruffled collar, a fur-trimmed cloak, a patterned vest, and a long-sleeved shirt. A decorative frame with Latin inscriptions encloses the portrait, with an emblem at the top center of the frame. The background is lightly textured, and the border frame includes scrollwork and detailed engraving.
