The man has an oval face, a neatly trimmed mustache and beard, and wears a high-crowned hat. He is dressed in elaborate attire of the period, including a high, ruffled lace collar and a patterned doublet. One of his hands rests on a large, circular seal or medallion. The background features an ornate frame with scrollwork, inscriptions, and an emblem at the top. Latin inscriptions are present on the frame. The overall color scheme consists of muted grays and blacks.
