Artist, German, c. 1595 - 1647

The image shows an engraving of a man standing in a slightly angled position, facing towards the viewer's right. He has well-defined facial features with a mustache and a beard, and medium-length curly hair. He is wearing an ornate garment with lace cuffs and a detailed pattern, holding a large sash or cloak over one shoulder. The man has one hand resting on a stack of books or pedestal, and is wearing a ruffled collar around his neck. In one hand, he holds what appears to be a jewel or ornate clasp. The background features a tall column, and the portrait is enclosed in a decorative frame with floral and horn motifs, as well as classical figures playing musical instruments at the base. An inscription surrounds the portrait within the frame.
