This is a drawing of an ornate title page. The image features an elaborate and symbolic design centered around the title of a publication, “An Apologie or Declaration of the Power and Providence of God in the Goverment [sic] of the World” by George Hakewill. The title is set within a large architectural structure consisting of columns and an arch. Above the arch, a scene depicts a city with figures of a bearded old man holding a scythe and a skeleton. There are also symbols of religious significance, including the Hebrew name of God (YHWH), angels, and apocalyptic imagery. Below, there are emblematic images like a ship on tumultuous seas and a coat of arms with a heart and wings. The composition conveys themes of mortality, divine providence, and the celestial cycle.
