The image depicts an engraved portrait of a man shown from the mid-torso upwards, positioned facing the viewer with his head slightly turned to his right. He has a long, pointed beard, a mustache, and wavy, shoulder-length hair. He wears ornate period clothing, a ruffled lace collar, a patterned garment, a sash, and holds a long staff or baton in his right hand. He wears a large chain around his neck with a decorative pendant. The portrait is surrounded by an ornate frame with heraldic symbols, banners, and two figures on each side. In the background above the frame are decorative motifs, including a coat of arms, and below the portrait is an inscription about the person depicted.
