The image shows a man from the waist up, seated and looking directly at the viewer. He has long, wavy hair, a high forehead, arched eyebrows, and a straight nose. He is dressed in period clothing with a cloak and a lace collar. There are bookshelves, a coat of arms, a small table with an animal figure, and a draped curtain in the background. An inscription at the bottom reads "Johannis Heydon" with additional text.
