The image shows a portrait of a man from the torso upward. He is facing slightly to the left with his head turned back towards the viewer. The man has robust facial features, a mustache, and a beard. His curly hair flows just past his ears. He is wearing a detailed armored breastplate over a high-collared garment, and has a medallion necklace. The background is plain, framed by an oval border within a rectangular canvas. The bottom includes text stating the man's name and title: "Thomas, Earle of Arundell.
