The engraving depicts a man from the waist up facing slightly to the right. The man has a mustache curving upwards, a small goatee on his chin, and hair covered by a dark cap. He wears a dark garment with buttons down the front, a white collar, and has his right hand raised to his chest with fingers slightly spread. The background is plain with an oval frame around the portrait. Below the image is text identifying the subject as "Jeremiah Burroughes, Late Minister of the Gospel," and giving credit to the engraver, "R. Gaywood fecit," and the publisher, "sold by P. Stent."
