This is a monochromatic engraving showing a portrait of a man in profile facing right. The man has a strong facial profile with a prominent nose and chin and short, slicked-back hair. He is wearing ornate armor with decorative elements and a ruffled collar. Elaborate designs, including various patterns and possibly a knotted cord, adorn the armor. The background consists of a dark, textured oval frame enclosing the man, with a banner above that reads "MEDIO ET TEMPORE." The portrait is within an elegant frame with the name "Sr Francis Vere" inscribed at the bottom.
