This artwork depicts a view from within a shaded woodland. The horizon is positioned about one-third from the bottom of the image, marked by a distant silhouette of a castle or large building. Tall trees with dense foliage frame the view. The brushstrokes are finely detailed and cross-hatched, creating texture in the ground and sky. The color palette is a sepia tone, giving the image a classic atmosphere. Varied line density creates contrast and depth, drawing the eye towards the lightest part of the image at the horizon.
