This is a drawing of a shipwreck scene. The composition shows numerous figures on a makeshift raft, floating amidst waves. The raft is tethered together with planks and other debris in an agitated sea. Some figures appear lifeless, while others show signs of desperation or exhaustion. One figure stands at the edge, signaling or waving. In the background, a small ship is visible on the horizon. The drawing is titled "Shipwreck of the Meduse." The line work is detailed and expressive.
