The image shows a dense forest with tall trees in the foreground, their trunks and foliage captured in detailed lines. In the distance, a structure resembling a castle or fortress emerges from the trees. The artist uses hatching and cross-hatching to create shades and depict light filtering through the canopy. The color palette is sepia, providing a vintage feel. The composition leads the viewer's eye from the forest floor to the distant building.
