Artist, Veronese, 1467 - 1528

The sculpture depicts a scene of crucifixion, with a central figure on a cross flanked by two other figures, also crucified in varying postures. Surrounding these central figures are numerous human figures, some soldiers with spears and shields, while others appear distressed or mourning. The figures are intricately detailed, with attention given to their expressions and the texture of their garments. The sculpture is crafted from bronze, lending it a dark, metallic brown color with a natural patina that highlights the relief work. All figures are positioned in high relief against the relatively flat background.
