The scene is split into two halves by a centrally positioned tree trunk. On the left side, a man leans against the tree, his silhouette marked by broad, loose brushstrokes in earthy and muted tones. Cows graze on the vibrant green landscape to the left of the man. The horizon is low and nearly indiscernible, melding into the sky which is a subtle blend of greens and blues. Beyond the man and the tree, more cattle are dispersed across the rolling green hills. The composition employs a palette dominated by greens, punctuated by earthy browns and yellows for the animals.
