The image shows a cityscape viewed from an elevated perspective. The horizon line is positioned towards the top third of the image, where distant buildings and hills meet the sky. In the foreground, there are figures among stone and architectural remnants, while the middle distance shows more activity with people and carriages. Architectural landmarks with columns and arches are visible in the distance. The image is rendered with line work and crosshatching, suggesting an etching technique. The color palette is primarily brown, creating contrast and detail. Trees frame the left side of the image.
