This is a drawing of a horse walking in a circle while harnessed to a large cylindrical stone. The horse appears to be laboriously moving around an immobile, massive object. On its head, there is a cap with the word "PROGRES" on it. The horse looks weary and burdened, as it is tethered to this stone mechanism. The monochrome medium and style of the drawing indicate a satirical or editorial comic artwork. The caption at the bottom is in French, translating to "A method for making him walk without advancing."
