Artist, American, 1834 - 1903

The image shows an elevated view of a busy street scene. In the distance, a building with a clock tower marks the low horizon. The etching technique features detailed lines outlining the buildings and people on the street. Buildings on both sides of the street lead towards the clock tower, creating depth. The color scheme is monochromatic with black and white shades. The street is filled with pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages, depicted with energetic strokes. Architectural details on the buildings are intricately drawn.
