Artist, Scottish, 1876 - 1953

The image shows a barn-like structure with a weathered roof and wooden siding forming a triangular peak. The horizon is visible where the top of the building meets the sky. Soft lines and texture are conveyed through varying densities of hatch marks and shading, giving a sense of depth. The color palette is monochromatic in shades of sepia. Horses are hitched under the shelter of the barn, and a covered wagon is visible. Additional farm structures extend into the distance.
