Artist, French, 1841 - 1919

This painting depicts a woman standing, facing the right, with her left arm resting on a wooden post or walking stick. She has pale orange skin and dark hair, and is wearing a long, light-colored dress with a light blue skirt. In her right hand, she holds an object with a red ribbon - perhaps a white parasol. The background shows branches of a tree on the left with green leaves above her and, to the right, an indistinct light blue and beige area with some fencing or wooden posts. The brushstrokes in the painting are thick and visible, with few fine details.
