The image shows an elevated angle looking down onto a rural scene. Trees, buildings, including thatched cottages and barns, define the horizon. The brushstrokes create detailed textures in the roofs and foliage. The color palette is monochromatic, using black and white tones for contrast. A wooden fence separates the viewer from people and animals. A small village or farmstead is surrounded by trees in the distance. The sky features linear etching suggesting clouds with birds.
