The image features a young boy shown in three different positions. The central depiction shows the boy seated at a table, leaning forward as he writes or draws. To the right are two smaller sketches of the boy's face in different angles. The background includes a boat and a faint horizon line, with no other visible objects. The piece is monochrome and executed with a light touch.
