The image displays a landscape with a countryside scene seen from an elevated angle. The horizon is in the upper third of the image, showing a sky with horizontal brushstrokes indicating clouds and birds flying on the right. On the left are detailed trees, and on the right is a rocky terrain with cliff faces. In the center, a couple walks along a path, one figure holding a staff, heading towards distant structures and cart-drawn animals on the same path. Monochromatic tones balance dark shadows and light highlights in the scene.
