The image is an etching depicting a rugged landscape from a slightly elevated point of view. There are large rocky formations to the left with intricate shading, suggesting a dense texture. Near the rocks, a group of figures can be seen with a pack animal. The horizon is positioned relatively high, allowing a wide view of the landscape extending into the distance. On the horizon, there are buildings including a church with a spire, indicating a small village nestled amongst the trees. The etching is finely detailed with cross-hatching for depth. It is monochrome, with varying shades of brown and black ink. Large clouds fill the sky.
