Artist, British, 1731 - 1809

The image features a landscape scene with a view from a slightly elevated perspective. The horizon is defined by a mountain range dominating the upper middle portion of the composition. Linear clouds in the sky above the mountains suggest a woodcut technique. Closest to us, a dense grouping of trees frames the left side, depicted with intricate detail. A waterfall cascades down a rocky slope, its flowing water captured with curved lines. The color palette is monochromatic in shades of sepia, creating depth and texture. Additional hills in the distance rise gently, adorned with clusters of trees and a hint of human presence.
