Artist, American, 1909 - 2001

The image shows a riverside view looking across the water towards buildings in the distance that fade into the horizon. The horizon is high in the image with shadowy silhouettes of various structures, including what seems to be a castle and spires. Closest to us are dark vertical posts and a figure leaning on a post against the water. In the middle, there is a moored riverboat and reflections in the water. The artist uses a pointillist technique with small dots creating a textured effect on the surface. The color palette is dominated by shades of gray and black, creating a monochromatic and serene atmosphere.
