This drawing depicts figures reacting to an incoming tide. The scene is set at a beach, with a group of three figures surprised by rising water levels. The central figure on the left wears a tall hat and looks through a telescope. Next to him, another figure appears agitated with arms raised. A third figure in the background appears to be waving or signaling with both hands near his hat. The backdrop shows a seascape with waves and distant ships.
