Artist, Dutch, 1595 - 1661

The image is a landscape viewed from a slightly elevated point. In the distance, the horizon is subtly indicated by a faint line of hills or terrain. On the horizon, there are a few distant birds sketched into the sky. The artwork is composed with pencil, demonstrating soft and controlled strokes varying in density to suggest texture and shadow. Closer to us, the terrain is marked by delicate, swirling lines forming patches of vegetation and rocky formations, leading up to a line of wagons and figures farther along the path. The color palette is monochromatic, relying exclusively on natural tones to convey details and tonal contrasts.
