The image displays the upper half of a man and several other figures around him, captured mostly from the waist up. The man is standing in the center with his arms raised to cover his ears. He has a startled facial expression with wide eyes and an open mouth. He wears a tall, black top hat and a dark coat. Other figures around him are playing musical instruments. There is a woman and children playing, with some depicted in profile wearing bonnets or hats and holding pipes or flutes. Two other children on the left are also playing similar instruments and wearing hats. The background includes additional figures and a textured backdrop suggesting a crowd or commotion, with a text header reading "Les Beaux Jours de la Vie" and additional text below the illustration.
