This view of “An Exhibition of the Recent Work—Oils, Water-Colors, Charcoal Drawings, Sculpture,—By Georgia O’Keeffe of Canyon, Texas,” held from 3 April to 14 May 1917 at 291, includes from left to right: Blue, Green and Red, 1916, Abstraction, 1916, and No. 12 Special, 1916 (Lynes 84, 66 and 117).
This photograph is part of a series of eight images that Stieglitz made of the exhibition and sent to O’Keeffe in Texas. A complete set is at the J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles (93.XM.26.52), bound into a booklet and inscribed, “To Georgia O’Keeffe / 291—/ Series of Proofs / of her Exhibition / 1917 / April 7 —.”
